Juvederm is an hyaluronic acid facial filler that is used to fill deeper folds in the face and add volume to areas of deficit. It is typically injected into the nasolabial folds, Marionette lines, cheeks and lips to enhance the features of the aging face. Radiesse is a facial filler composed of calcium hydroxylapatite and is used to volumize areas of the face where there has been a significant lose of facial structure. This product is excellent for use in the nasolabial folds, cheeks and jowl regions of the face and results can last up to 18 months as it stimulates the body to produce new collagen. Sculptra has been used for years as the number one filler for treatment of HIV lipoatrophy. Due to the success in treatment of this condition, the product (now Sculptra® Aesthetic) gained FDA approval in January 2009 for cosmetic facial sculpting! Composed of poly-L-lactic acid, Sculptra® Aesthetic can be injected for augmentation of the cheeks, temples, jowls and nasolabial folds. Up to three treatment sessions may be required to achieve the desired result.
